On Wednesday the Serum Institute of India (SII) has announced the price of Covid-19 vaccine. At government hospitals, the vaccine would cost Rs 400 while at private hospitals it is Rs 600. But SII will be supplying half of the capacities to the Centre and the remaining half to state governments and private hospitals across the country.
Here the twist in the tale came as the Centre will be procuring the vaccine from SII at nominal price of Rs 150 while the state governments would have to shell out Rs 400 per vaccine. Learning this huge difference in prices, oppositions and the common man lashed at the Centre for their unilateral methods.

Hyderabad: Slamming the Centre for ‘lesser’ allocation of Remdesivir to Telangana, health minister Etela Rajender on Thursday said the state has to be given preference as it is home to many manufacturers of the anti-viral drug.
Speaking to reporters, Rajender said the Central government has allotted only a little over 21,000 from April 21-30 as against the state’s expectation of four lakh.

We express our protest against this. I will also write a letter to Harsh Vardhan (union health minister).

Hyderabad, April 22 : Telangana s Industry Minister K.T. Rama Rao on Thursday questioned the different pricing of Covid-19 vaccine for the central and state governments.
The Minister, who is also the working president of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), took to Twitter to wonder why there is no uniform pricing for vaccine.
KTR, as Rama Rao is popularly known, wants the Centre to absorb the additional cost from PM Cares to help rapid vaccination across the country.
