Evacuation orders are in place in ten counties north of tampa, in what we call the big bend area of florida. The system started as a Tropical Storm but it is rapidly intensifying over unsually warm waters in the gulf. Through the day it has been moving north from west cuba growing from a categoryi hurricane, possibly to a category three with winds that could reach iiomph. But, as ever, it is the storm surge that has the authorities most concerned, particularly around cedar key and some of the very low lying areas.
