FARGO (KFGO) – Another fire on the former Mid-America Steel plant property at 92 NP Avenue in downtown Fargo.
A BNSF engineer in a passing train spotted the fire in a metal building around 10 p.m. Sunday. The 20×20 foot building was fully involved when firefighters arrived. Crews were able to get the fire extinguished in about 30 minutes.
While the cause has not been determined, Fire Battalion Chief Jason Ness, it appears suspicious, happening less than a month after a large building on the site that burned was intentionally set.
The buildings on the site have been empty for more than a year and Ness says there’s been difficulty keeping people out of the structures.
