Delaware County commissioners fire highway superintendent over budgeting issue

Delaware County Commissioner James King brought up the issue on Monday during a meeting of the county s governing board, citing that they needed to go in a different direction with the department after what happened.
“I’m not very happy with what happened,” King said. We should have been notified that people were going to lose their jobs.

In total, nine positions were defunded by Jessee this fall, resulting in three county employees having to wait until Jan. 4 to find out if they will still have their jobs. The rest of the jobs affected were held by people who retired or found other work. ....
