good morning. i m linzie janis. and i m nick watt. diane maceda and kendis gibson have the day off. we begin with severe weather spawning at least one tornado in new orleans tearing apart buildings and leaving a path of destruction. the vicious storm tore across the city shattering everything in its path. a fire department spokesperson called one of those collapse, quote, a complete pancake collapse and scenes like this where a man was pulled from the rubble of a destroyed building was one of many dramas laying out through the day. a terrifying sight over the big easy. i m freaking out. i m calling my mom. oh, my god. oh, my god. reporter: people in this new orleans office building watching a funnel cloud form over the city. and i went and looked outside, and i saw a shingle swirling in the air. reporter: this morning the national weather service confirming at least one tornado touched down ripping a half-mile swath through a neighborhood. we got a build ....
runners took to the 12 kilometer course that starts at embarcadero and ends at ocean beach. it s less of a race and more of a party. there for all the festivity, chuck, how was the crowd this year? reporter: always fun. this year was no exception. you can see behind me great highway s back open as well as some 30 odd streets closed today all back open at this point. we saw a lot of tutus, a lot of mini minions, mean girls and star wars cruiser and man carrying a basketball hoop people kept trying to dunk, some of the spectacle we saw. a large crowd ran this year, around 40,000, some put it at 50,000, at least 10,000 than last year with 200,000 specta r spectators cheering them on. as for presidential candidates, we saw a lot of donald accomp y accompanied by a brick wall and a bunch of bernies and more than a handful of hillary s. this year was a lot warmer than last year. true to past years runners did not come short of political causes. one dressed as a honey bee. ....
