gravestown, mississippi. around 10:00 a.m. local time. int not all that far from where it took off around 5:00 a.m. this morning. you could see a beechcraft, a twin engine commuter, seats about six or eight people and we know from authorities in tupelo that this plane was stolen by what appears to be an airport employee. police received a call around 5:00 a.m. central daylight time where the pilot of that plane, actually we don t know if it is way pilot. but the person flying that airplane called 911 and said they were going to steal the airplane and crash it into one of the local walmarts in tupelo. the plane circled for about five hours above the area. not only above that walmart, but also above nearby neighborhoods and also over a nearby national forest. what is going to be the big question here is what ultimately brought the plane down. i spoke to folks who have flown this type of airline and they say it holds between four to six hours of fuel when it is loaded so that is
upon final approach, the pilot aborted the landing and traveled in a northwest direction away from tupelo towards union, tippa and denton county. at this time we contacted all of those counties and their sheriff to notify them of this incident going on. at approximately 9:32, the pilot posted on facebook a message and in essence it said good-bye. and at this time we know he was getting close to running out of fuel. at 10:08 a.m., faa lost radar contact with the aircraft. at 10:12 a.m., our negotiator re-established contact with the pilot and he confirmed he had landed in a feield and he was uninjured. we since learned he landed near the gravestown fire department
country in terms of providing care just because of what happened and the number of healthcare workers who have left their jobs, literally suffering classic post traumatic stress syndrome. now we re seeing 10 to 20% of healthcare workers who are infected and they themselves cannot come to work because of the fact that they re infected. and so this has really made this a perfect storm kind of moment where we re seeing at i time where we need more healthcare workers having less. and while the administration has surely put forward dod medical teams and so forth, just put this in a perspective. we now have 1,000 dod medical exp experts in the feield and are missing 2 million healthcare workers today. and what you heard from oklahoma city. this is not just about covid care. now continue the time to have a heart attack, a stroke or be in an automobile accident.
there was a lot of pressure on him and his family, married to a super model there, to be that shining example of what it means to so many people, to be the hero not only in the city and the state but really for an entire league. and really, you said it perfectly. pressure was what he always thrived in, whether it was on the feield or off the field. never a situation, certainly a football game, that seemed too big for hip and as he got older and more mature in his career, his off-field decisions, same thing. deflategate, in the grand scheme, that will be considered a blip of history. when you write the tom brady book, it will not be deflategate but a side note somewhere. it s been an amazing career.
