PHILADELPHIA – There were a few tears, some laughs and shared smiles as Archbishop Wood’s seniors huddled together a final time. They’d just left everything they had on the field at Ramp Playground against top-seeded Father Judge in the last high school soccer game they’d ever play. While the final score didn’t go their way, among the smiles, the tears and the laughs, they also shared an agreement that it had been their best game of the year. Wood’s season ended in the Philadelphia Catholic League semifinals, as the No. 1 Crusaders downed the No. 4 Vikings 3-2 in a stellar league playoff game on Wednesday.
