National Anti-Terrorism Day observed across all the districts of Kashmir

  Srinagar: On National Anti-Terrorism Day which is being observed every year on May 21, the respective District Administrations of all the districts of Kashmir today organised simple but impressive functions to mark the day. The day is being observed to commemorate the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi who was killed in a suicide attack in Tamil Nadu in 1991. On the occasion the respective Deputy Commissioners of all the districts read out the pledge while the audience too participated and pledged to oppose with strength, all forms of terrorism and violence. At Srinagar: On the eve of Anti-Terrorism Day, a pledge taking ceremony was held at Banquet Hall Srinagar in which participants took the Anti-Terrorism Pledge and solemnly expressed their strong faith in Indias tradition of non-violence and tolerance exuded their firm commitment to oppose with all strength all forms of terrorism and violence.

Valediction of 32nd National Road Safety Month-2021 held across Kashmir

  Srinagar: Series of activities to raise awareness among the masses with respect to road safety marked the culmination of National Road Safety Month-2021 themed ‘Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha’ across all the districts of Kashmir. On the occasion, Valediction function was held at Srinagar and at all the districts to observe the conclusion of the month long awareness drive that was kick started on 18 January, 2021. During this period, a number of activities including debates, quiz, essay and painting competitions, distribution of pamphlets and print material, blood donation camp, fitness mela, walkathon, rallies to raise mass awareness among the drivers and the public about road safety norms besides health check up camps were conducted by the Regional Transport Authority, Kashmir and Astt. Regional Transport Offices of all the districts.

JAMMU: The 32nd National Road Safety Month was today inaugurated by Transport Commissioner, J&K Pardeep Kumar, with the flagging off a Walkathon-cum-Awareness Rally, here at Gulshan Ground. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Jammu, Shiv Kumar Sharma was the guest of honour on the occasion.
