A group of local faith leaders is delivering a letter to Columbus Mayor Andy Ginther this morning, calling for former Police Chief Thomas Quinlan to be fired.
Ginther last week demoted Quinlan to Deputy Chief. But the members of Faith In Public Life say Quinlan s handling of citizen protests last summer, his failure to immediately call in the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation after Casey Goodson s shooting death at the hands of a Franklin County deputy, and the shooting of Andre Hill by a Columbus cop, are perpetuating a culture of racism and vilence against Black people. Ginther says hiring Quinlan was his decision:
