Potsdam [Germany], April 27 (ANI): Climate change threatens to undermine efforts to eradicate extreme poverty. If recent trends continue, the UN goal to eradicate extreme poverty by 2030 will be clearly missed.
Ambitious climate action and the reduction of extreme poverty can work hand in hand. This can be achieved by combining the national redistribution of emission pricing revenues with international climate finance. The findings were published in Nature Communications.
Ambitious climate policies could help to reduce extreme poverty in developing countries.
