This morning, Carlos De Oliveira arrived with his counsel john irving at the federal courthouse behind me. It is the same courthouse that walt nauta was arraigned a few weeks ago. It is not the courthouse that donald trump was arraigned at. However, there was no arraignment today because Carlos De Oliveira didnt have an attorney of law qualified. So it has been rescheduled. The biggest takeaways are the following. One, there ar
hunter biden testified today. devin archer served on the burisma holdings. outside of that relationship, archer has a security fraud conviction and a one-year sentence that he has not served. and when the doj sent a letter over the weekend asking for a date for archer to report to prison, house republicans accused them of trying to intimidate a witness. joining me to talk about this, the investigative correspondent, tom winter. both the doj and devon archer s legal team are trying to shut down speculations. you have an assistant u.s. attorney overseeing this case. an investigation in a case that began in the obama administration, by the way. he s been convicted. $60 million fraud. his role in it. he s been extensioned to a year in prison in a day.
they are being treated so unfairly. we should note, prosecutors have already brought cases against more than 700 of the january 6th rioters and more than 50 have been extensioned for their role in the attacks. ryan, what is the reaction to the president, the former president s pledge of possible pardons from members of the house select xhae investigating january 6th? well, the house select committee members seem to be concerned with a number of things the president said over the weekend and statements he made as well. the idea of pardoning these individuals who have been accused of storming the capitol is just part of it. he said in that speech that his supporters should go protest outside of buildings where prosecutors and individuals have been investigating him and his allies as it relates to possible crimes that have to do with attempting to overturn the election, and as it relates to the january 6th investigation. so a member of the january 6th
factual basis for the plea and therefore, i will accept the plea. and so sam patten today becomes the latest cooping witness and the latest guilty plea in the special counsel s investigation. now, mr. patten has not yet been sentenced. he will not be sentenced until probably quite a few months from now down the road when the judge accepted his plea today will consider the information that she gets from prosecutors about how well sam patten has performed as a cooperator with them. in the meantime before he is sentenced, sam patten was instructed on hand over his passport. he will have to seek permission to travel outside the area. other than that, he is allowed out on his own recould goies in answer. the next time d.c. back in court is halloween, 60 days from now. he will be extensioned by that same judge. i mentioned that he is the
based on the hearing. the answer is no. mike flynn is not done. he is not ready to be extensioned after all. robert mueller isn t done with him yet. flynn s defense lawyer told the court bluntly, the government came to us and indicated they were not yet prepared to proceed to sentencing. the judge said that s fine. i don t have any problem with that whatsoever. none whatsoever. flynn s lawyer said, general flynn is eager to proceed to sentencing when that is possible but under the cooperation agreement, it is really up to the government to make that recommendation. the defense lawyeres he wants to bring that chapter of his life to a conclusion. and the court says, as does everyone facing sentencing. right. so there was confusion about this.
