WATERTOWN — Walkers from across the north country gathered at the 30th anniversary North Country Heart Walk Saturday to boost physical and mental health while supporting a lifesaving mission.

The free event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Kennedy Arena at 500 W. Embargo St. on May 11. The event is sponsored by the Rome Branch of the NAACP, the city of Rome, Rome Health and the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Nu Psi Omega Chapter.
