Throughout the night, department command staff recognized LPD employees for their work during various incidents, from communications specialists making life-saving phone calls to officers responding to homicide investigations.
The new portraits are for two K9 officers who have died over the last two years Bond who served the department from 2020 to 2021 when he died as well as Monte who served from 2014 to 2021, ultimately dying in 2022 as well as Shadow who will be retiring in December after 10 years of service and Tylon who retired in 2020 after 5 years of service.
