ZAMBOANGA CITY - The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday reported that Zamboanga Peninsula (Region 9) has so far logged a cumulative total of 40,056 recovered cases from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), representing an almost 85-percent recovery rate. The recovered cases According to the DOH-9, at least 40,056 cases have recovered out of the 47,203 Covid-19 infections since the start of the pandemic in March last year. A total of 2,023 cases have died, while 5,119 active cases remain. The DOH-9 covers the provinces of Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, and Zamboanga Sibugay and the cities of Isabela and Zamboanga. This city recorded the highest Covid-19 recoveries with 17,808, followed by the province of Zamboanga del Sur with 10,438.
