Windham ― The Connecticut District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration is holding its inaugural and free Veteran Business Expo Nov. 2 at the Eastern CT Veterans Community Center, at 47 C.
The U.S. Small Business Administration has awarded $200,000 to the state Department of Economic and Community Development through its State Trade Expansion Program to support export growth.
The program, known by the acronym STEP, aims to increase the number of small businesses that export products, increase the value of exports for small businesses and increase the number of small businesses that explore new trade opportunities.
SBA New England Regional Administrator Mike Vlacich said the funding will allow the DECD to support new and existing small business exporters.
During times of economic uncertainty, diversification of markets is considered a sound business strategy, with international business being a key element.
