storm. but the center of hermine is now in south carolina. right in between there. charleston and columbia that you see there. but look at all of that rain. it s just a steady rain and wind through south carolina, north carolina. the outer banks. and eventually it s going to move along the coast here of north carolina. and then into virginia. and there you see tropical storm warnings in effect. but i do have this report now on and where it s going right now. reporter: tropical storm hermine roared into charleston, south carolina, bringing wind gusts more than 50 miles per hour. we are expecting serious winds, serious rainfall that can lead to flash flooding. reporter: the storm made landfall over night near the florida panhandle as a category one hurricane. the first for florida in more a 7 foot storm surge and several inches of rain flooded streets, downed trees, knocked out power to more than 100,000 residents. here in charleston, the wind has been picking up all day
