Public Health announced 11 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, and the 39th death related to the virus in New Brunswick. The deceased was a resident of Pavillon Beau-Lieu, a special care home in Grand Falls, who was in their 70s. The 11 new cases were spread out across the following health zones: 3 cases in Zone 1 (Moncton region) 1 in Zone 2 (Saint John) 1 in Zone 3 (Fredericton) 5 in Zone 4 (Edmundston) 1 in Zone 6 (Bathurst) Just one of the 11 cases, discovered in the Moncton health zone, is under investigation. The rest are considered travel-related or contacts of previously confirmed cases. Six new recoveries were announced today, bringing the active case number to 145. Six people are in New Brunswick hospitals with the virus, and two of those are in the ICU. ....

All four of the new cases are travel-related, and spread out across the Moncton, Saint John, Fredericton, and Bathurst health zones. There are now 141 active cases of the virus, six patients are in New Brunswick hospitals battling COVID-19, and two of those cases are in an intensive care unit. On Tuesday, Public Health said the Edmundston region would remain at the orange level of pandemic guidelines for another week.
