WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA The Lost Hills Sheriff s station reported that three mountain lions were spotted early Tuesday morning in Westlake Village. The lions were reported near the 31600 block of Foxfield Dr., a residential street in Westlake Village.
Lost Hills deputies were not available for further comment.
The lions were spotted not far from where a mountain lion was found dead in Agoura Hills in Oct. 2017 after being exposed to multiple compounds of anticoagulant rodenticide, a form of rat poison, according to lab results.

A bill co-authored by Senator Henry Stern banning these rat poisons was signed into law by Gov. Newsom in September, and will take effect Jan. 1.

Returning Councilmembers Elisa Márquez, Mark Salinas and Francisco Zermeño also were sworn in to new four-year Council terms following their re-elections in the Nov. 3 municipal election.
And Councilmember Aisha Wahab was voted Mayor Pro Tempore by her colleagues on Tuesday and will serve in the vice mayor role on the seven-member Council for the next year.

Coronavirus hospitalizations are spiking at such a rate that demand for ICU space could exceed the county s 2,500-bed licensed capacity by as many as 1,000 patients within a month, said County Health Services Director Christina Ghaly. When hospital staff and resources are stretched beyond capacity, the death rate climbs dramatically health officials have warned. LA s hospitals are already under seige, county health officials warned.

EL CERRITO, CA The availability of intensive care unit beds in the Bay Area fell below 15-percent on Wednesday, triggering a mandatory 3-week stay-at-home order. ICU capacity fell today to 12.9 percent, according to the state s COVID-19 data dashboard.
Contra Costa County voluntarily adopted the order early, one of 5 counties to do so, in an effort to slow the coronavirus surge. But the surge continues unabated, filling hospital rooms and ICU beds.
The new mandatory order takes effect at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday. The only remaining holdouts San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Napa, and Solano counties are now forced into the stay-at-home order, which is extended for all counties until Jan. 8.

JURUPA VALLEY, CA A German Shepherd spotted dangling from a small bathroom window at a Jurupa Valley business Wednesday morning was getting veterinary care for his injuries after two Riverside County Animal Services officers rescued him.
The incident was reported around 7 a.m. by an employee at All Car Auto Repair, 8766 Limonite Court, where the dog lived.
Riverside County Animal Services Cmdr. Chris Mayer and Sgt. Kyle Stephens responded to the call and surmised that the big pooch tried to jump through the window but got stuck in the process.
