an oakland police vehicle strikes a man as he crosses the street. we are at the scene learning more details as the investigation unfolds. good evening. thanks for joining us for the special postgame edition of ktvu channel 2 news. we begin with developing news. tonight a 58-year-old man is in critical condition after being hit by an oakland patrol car. christina rendon live with more details. reporter: we can tell you that a portion of east 12th has been shut down for about six hours now as this investigation continues. if you take a look behind us, this is the intersection with the pedestrian was hit, and you can even see there is still some of the pedestrian s items scattered on the street. now, this all happened around 2:00 this afternoon on the 300 block of east 12th. an oakland police officer spokesman says one of their officers was responding to a call but was not traveling very fast. they say he didn t even have his lights or sirens on. but the officer was passi
