Wayne County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting Recap

The Wayne County Farm Bureau held their 101st annual meeting on March 2nd at the First Christian Church in Fairfield. During the meeting, officials with the Farm Bureau presented a check for $15,000 to the Edwards County Council on Aging in support of the new Wayne County Senior Citizens Center Project. In elections at the meeting, David White, Mark Bunnage, Nathan Vaughn, and Jim Rush were re-elected as directors. Heather Greenwalt was elected to replace retiring director Larry Reed. Reed has served on the board since 1981. The keynote speaker for this year's annual meeting was Eyewitness News Anchor Brad Byrd. Byrd has been an anchor for many years on WTVW and WEHT in the evenings. Following the annual meeting, the board of directors held their election meeting. David White was elected President, Robert Pearce was elected as Vice-President, Mark Bunnage was elected as Secretary-Treasurer, and Randy Ellis was elected as Assistant Secretary-Treasurer. ....

Early voting begins today for the consolidated election. Early voting in Wayne County can only be done at the courthouse, but County Clerk Liz Ann Woodrow says the courthouse will not be a polling place on Election Day. Anyone wanting to vote by mail in the election must request a ballot, as letters will not be sent out as they were in November.
Wayne City Unit 100 plans to hold Kindergarten Registration and Pre-School Screenings March 10
th and 11
th at the Wayne City Baptist Church. People should call 895-3103 to schedule an appointment. The screenings are for children up to five years old who are not attending kindergarten this fall. ....
