her alleged kidnapper 19-year- old fernando castro. the search for rural spans from northern california down south. in santa barbara county shortly after an amber alert was issued on her behalf thursday, castro was killed in a gun battle with police in the city of solving. they re doing everything they can to bring her home. reporter: acting on tips investigators then shifted their focus on the sonoma county town of jenner. a day after the kidnapping the sheriff s office says castro s car had been spotted by surveillance cameras in nearby marin county. search and rescue crews then spent 2 days exploring bushes in nearby waterways. but saturday afternoon that search was suspended indefinitely. i believe she is somewhere close. i will not stop until she is found. reporter: right now it s unclear what brought investigators to jenner in the meantime her family says they will continue to search for her here in vallejo. you can track the timeline of pearls disappearance.
