Winter Hill Community Innovation School in Somerville will remain closed for the rest of the school year and classes will be relocated after a piece of concrete fell into a stairwell in the school while it was empty last week, officials said Sunday night.
Somerville Public Schools and the city of Somerville announced that Winter Hill Community School will remain closed for the rest of the school year due to safety concerns and students will resume class on Thursday, June 8, at other locations.
Winter Hill Community Innovation School classes will resume Thursday at temporary locations after city and school leaders closed the school building over safety concerns.
Classes are canceled for most of the week for students at a school in Somerville, Massachusetts, amid structural concerts at the Winter Hill Community School.
