The Snowmass Village Town Council has officially appointed Ed Foran to the six-member Krabloonik Best Practices Review Committee, filling a position that opened up in early May when Bill Fabrocini resigned.
Danny Phillips, who co-owns Krabloonik Dog Sledding with Gina Phillips, maintains he was not aware that a Best Practices Plan would become a part of their lease with the town when Krabloonik’s owners met with town officials and created the plan by mutual agreement in 2015.
At a special meeting on Monday, the Snowmass Village Town Council identified several items related to Krabloonik Dog Sledding’s lease with the town that the facility’s owners will need to address in the coming weeks.
Krabloonik Dog Sledding in Snowmass Village has been the subject of state and local investigations as well as ongoing town discussions in response to concerns and formal complaints submitted to the town of Snowmass Village, the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado Pet Animal Care Facilities Program (PACFA).
The Krabloonik Best Practices Review Committee was down to one remaining member this February after several resignations from the group, which was formed in 2015 to review and inspect Krabloonik Dog Sledding and report on whether the facility’s operators are following the best practices it committed to in its lease with the town.
