Hawk Mountain Sanctuary received a Christmas present recently during a brief ceremony in Cabela’s store in the Tilden Ridge Shopping Center. Ed Bartolotta, Cabela’s general manager, presented a check for $4,000 to Sean Grace, sanctuary president, in the Tilden Township store. The check is the first of three grants totaling $11,000 awarded this season from the Bass Pro Shops Cabela’s Outdoor Fund, which supports programs and initiatives that conserve wildlife and habitat and connect people to the outdoors. - Advertisement - The fund is also awarding $4,000 to the One Wish Foundation in Fleetwood and $3,000 to the Lehigh Valley Zoological Society, which operates the Lehigh Valley Zoo in Schnecksville, Lehigh County.
