PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. â After signing a controversial elections bill into law on Thursday morning, Governor Ron DeSantis announced more than $111 million in long-term disaster recovery awards to 22 communities in the state that were impacted by Hurricane Michael.
The money is through the Rebuild Florida General Infrastructure Repair program.
DeSantis was joined Department of Economic Opportunity Executive Director Dane Eagle, among several others.

LAKELAND, Fla. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is set to speak Friday morning in Lakeland.
The governor will be joined by Department of Economic Opportunity Executive Director Dane Eagle, according to a press release from DeSantis office.
DeSantis is scheduled to speak starting at 10:45 a.m. at Bonnet Springs Park.
The topic of the press conference was not released.
On Thursday, Florida lawmakers passed a controversial bill known as the Combating Violence, Disorder, and Looting and Law Enforcement Protection Act.

The state legislature is looking at a number of bills to overhaul the troubled unemployment system. The problems surfaced last year during the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused a crush of unemployment claims to overwhelm the system. The
fix is estimated to cost around $73 million, according to the DEO.
State Department of Economic Opportunity Executive Director Dane Eagle told a Florida Senate committee on Monday that the two-year cost to fix the troubled unemployment system alone would be over $73 million.
