The litter pickers of North Bolton have taken on their latest enthusiastic recruit four-year-old Grayson McManus. Grayson was inspired by seeing Harwood Litter Pickers around his house in Hough Fold Way and decided he wanted to give litter picking a go himself. He braved the cold with his mum Jade and filled up a carrier bag full of bottles and wrappers on his first litter pick last Saturday. Jade McManus said: “We went to my grandma’s house and Grayson saw her using a litter picker to help her pick up things around the house and he instantly became obsessed with it.

Parents have been praising the teachers and schools who have gone above and beyond to help children in Greater Manchester throughout lockdown. As executive headteacher Chris Hanson praised families and staff at Corpus Christi RC Primary in Chadderton, Oldham, for pulling together amid the pandemic, we asked parents to tell us who they wanted to thank - and we were inundated with suggestions.
