The man was identified by Unified police as Shane Holloran of Murray, Monday afternoon.
The crash took place about 3:45 a.m. near 1192 E. Van Winkle. Police initially said the incident occurred at 1992 E. Van Winkle, but later clarified that the address was 1192 E. Van Winkle.
Holloran was walking in the road in a very dark area. A Nissan SUV was southbound in the area and hit Holloran, who died at the scene, said Unified Police Sgt. Melody Cutler.
Police aren t sure why he was walking in the road. Holloran lives about a mile away from the area, so it s possible he had been walking home, Cutler said.
