On the same day, police found Hamilton had unlawfully entered a Dysart address and possessed of the drug Temazepam and two used glass pipes.
The court heard he then obstructed a police officer who was at the address and threatened to kill him.
Defence solicitor Geoff Govey, of Taylors Solicitors, said his 35-year-old client had returned to Queensland to retrieve his property when COVID closed down the Western Australia mine site he was working at.
But Magistrate Damien Dwyer said Hamilton behaved like a âdrongoâ when he was asked to leave the Cairns address.

A 21-year-old woman was allegedly punched in the stomach when a fight broke out at Dysart on January 12.
A 53-year-old Middlemount man and a 47-year-old Dysart woman allegedly attended a Mclennan Court address before becoming involved in a verbal and physical altercation with the occupants.
The alleged incident resulted in a 21-year-old woman being punched in the stomach and hit on the arm, a Queensland Police Service spokesman said.

A Maywin Dve home was reportedly broken into the same morning, between 3.30am and 5am.
A vehicle was reported as stolen from a shed at the premises.
Another Tieri property, on Emuapple St, was hit between December 9 and January 4, with building materials, windows and doors reported damaged.
A burglary was reported at a Hannah Cres property at Dysart at 6.30pm on January 4.
A mess was left throughout the premises but no property was reported stolen.
Police will continue to investigate the incidents.
“Any information the public can provide regarding these matters would be appreciated by police,” the QPS spokeswoman said.
Premium Content Police are investigating multiple hit and run traffic crashes at Dysart on Christmas Day. Senior Constable Nick Schmidt said a vehicle fled the scene after crashing into a house in the Central Queensland community. Police and emergency service crews were called to the Spring Cres address about 7.45pm on December 25. Crews saw a utility that had knocked out a support beam of the carport causing structural damage. Investigations revealed the offending vehicle had crashed into the parked vehicle, pushing it into the structure. It is believed the same vehicle crashed into a fence on Hannah Cres and fled prior to the incident on Spring Cres.
