Also on the day of the Duxford 80th D Day Anniversary Airshow the sun was high over head and very bright and harsh. Though I do like Merlin V12 powered aircraft like this Spitfire, and can not wait till Duxford restore the De Havilland Mosquito which is powered by two Merlin 1710bhp V12 engines. Photograph posted by TornadoTys with the description: This is my last of the wing walkers images from Duxford 80th D Day Anniversery Airshow Boeing Stearman biplanes have 450hp Pratt and Whitney radial engines, and have been specially adapted for wingwalking under Civil Aviation Authority. The engine ha been uprated to deal with the drag of the wing walker, and for performing aerobatics. The women that perform the wing walking have my utmost admiration for nerves of steel, and I would not mind giving this ago my self. I have gone for a more moody look to emphases the drama and presence of the plane. I have hopefully edited this image to try and make aircraft photos that bit more dramatic and interesting.
