Former Unicorn Miller drafted by Seattle

Another New Braunfels High School product has fulfilled his dreams of a professional baseball career. Former Unicorn Bryce Miller heard his name called Monday during the fourth round of the 2021 MLB Draft, as the Seattle Mariners targeted the flame-throwing right-hander with the 113th overall selection. Miller, who moved from the bullpen to the top of the starting rotation for Texas A&M prior to his senior season, flashed plenty of velocity on his fastball this year while posting a 3-2 record with an ERA of 4.45 and 70 strikeouts in 56 2/3 innings. Not bad for a player that thought he would be utilized as an outfielder at the collegiate level when he signed an offer from Blinn College back in 2017.
