Local parishes celebrate indoor services after conflicting court rulings

Local parishes celebrate indoor services after conflicting court rulings Written by Cheryl Caligaris - Special to the Town Crier Local churches are again breathing a sigh of relief after the U.S. Supreme Court reaffirmed its position Feb. 26 allowing indoor worship. The court had ruled in a 6-3 vote Feb. 5 that churches could allow for some indoor capacity. Santa Clara County initially resisted the decision. A U.S. District Court decision Feb. 8 overruled the county, allowing for 20% indoor capacity. The Ninth District U.S. Court of Appeals then sided with the county before the Supreme Court stepped in again. The decision resonated with the Diocese of San Jose.

Witness reports lead to arrest of suspected drug dealer

December 22, 2020 6:56 am clipart.com BELLINGHAM, Wash.  Ferndale witness reports from early December eventually led to the arrest of an alleged drug dealer in Bellingham Friday. The Whatcom County Sheriff’s office says 33 year old Dustin Owen was reported for suspicious activity on Atwood Road in Ferndale on December 4th. Owen’s vehicle was impounded at that time after deputies saw drug paraphernalia inside. Four days later, upon grant of a warrant, a search of the vehicle yielded multiple bags of illegal narcotics. Last Friday, deputies tracked Owen down on Meridian Street, and arrested him, allegedly finding drugs, bullets, and a large amount of cash.
