Drew Lashaway has been hired as Eastwood’s new wrestling head coach for the 2023-24 school year, taking over for Joe Wyant. At Eastwood, Lashaway won a state championship his senior year and was a three-time state qualifier, three-time league champion, and two-time team captain.NCAA qualifier. After graduating from Eastwood, Lashaway received a college scholarship to Kent State University and earned a starting spot all four years starting for the Golden Flashes, winning a 2009 Mid-American Conference championship.
Clay wrestling has won seven of eight Three Rivers Athletic Conference championships, and the Eagles will be going for eight of nine this year. The only thing is, the rest of the TRAC seems to be keeping pace.

When you return 19 lettermen, including four league champions and four state qualifiers, you are likely feeling good about your upcoming season. At Clay, it’s been that way for years the wrestling program shuffles in new experienced wrestlers to fill the void left by those who graduated many of whom go on to wrestle collegiately. This year, Clay’s wrestling season was put on hold because of the Lucas County Health Department’s order suspending high school sports until mid-January, but when it does return, watch out.
