Regretting saying this late tonight. it looks like this vote this evening could be a relatively low drama affair. we have been keeping track of the whip count for a couple days. only about 35 house republicans have said they would vote against this bill. that tracks with what hakeem jeffries told me yesterday, the speaker promised him 150 republican votes in favor of it. i asked the speaker about this. he was projecting confidence. he did not have the actual count, but he was quite certain that this would pass. his chief deputy, one of his chief allies who negotiated this bill with democrats, was especially confident this morning on cnbc talking both to his members, their audience, and the markets saying, stay calm, we got this. take a listen. it s going to be a long day. i think the votes are there on both sides, democrats will produce some votes in the nature of a deal like this, both
