MARION – Junior Jarrett Hornish became the second individual wrestling state champion in Wayne Trace history on Sunday at Marion Harding High School as the Raider grappler posted a 5-4 victory over Mechanicsburg’s Trey Allen in the 126-pound weight class.
Hornish defeated Rootstown’s Caleb Edwards 4-2 in the semifinals following a 15-3 major decision quarterfinal win over Barnesville’s Skyler King. Hornish pinned Oak Harbor’s Tyler Davis at the 5:31 mark in the opening round.

Hornish pinned Tyler Davis of Oak Harbor
in 5:31 to win his opening match. In his second match on Saturday,
Hornish defeated Skyler King of Barnesville in a 15-3 major decision to
advance in the winners bracket and wrestle the following day.
“I just kept pushing as hard as I could,” said Hornish. “I took it one match at a time and tried to stay focused.”
