WALDO Edward M. Beckett, Sr., 86 passed away peacefully at his home on May 9, 2021.
He was born on March 10, 1935, in Northport to Melvin and Dorothy (Mahoney) Beckett.
He married Helen M. (Leadbetter) of Searsmont and raised nine children: Edward Jr., Denise, Wilma, Charles, Eugene, Jon, Pamela, Paula, and Dennis.
He was an experienced truck driver and retired from Dead River Transportation in 1995. He received years and years of safe driving awards and was proud to state that he had logged 2 and a half million miles. He also enjoyed bird, deer, and moose hunting.
Upon retiring he purchased land and built a camp in northern Maine (Haynesville) where he and his partner, Bev Maddocks, enjoyed riding the dirt roads in search of wildlife and scenery. ....
