Woman sues Houston Metro Transit Authority after allegedly slipping on bus

HOUSTON A woman is suing the Houston Metropolitan Transit Authority claiming she slipped and fell on one of the buses and suffered injuries.
Doris Martinez filed a complaint March 8 in Harris County District Court against Houston Metropolitan Transit Authority alleging negligence and premises liability.
According to her complaint, Martinez was a passenger on a Houston Metropolitan Transit Authority bus on Sept. 11, 2020. She alleges that while walking down the aisle of the bus, she slipped on an unknown substance, fell backwards and suffered injuries to her upper and lower back as well as her knee.
Martinez claims the Houston Metropolitan Transit Authority was negligent for creating the hazardous condition that caused her fall, failing to clean up the floor of the bus and failing to warn of the hazard. She also claims the Houston Metropolitan Transit Authority failed to monitor the floor of the bus or properly train its employees and implement adequate safe ....
