TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 23 Seminoles use a dominating second quarter to bury Wake Forest for their 20th win this season, earning a 72-44 win on Thursday night at the Donald L. Tucker Center. “I’m very proud of this entire team effort,” FSU Head Coach Brooke Wyckoff said. “Every person contributed today scoring-wise, rebounding-wise and most of all on the defensive end where a lot of that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet. They defended collectively, finished playing with rebounds – we didn’t give up an offensive rebound in the second half.” Another 2️⃣0️⃣ win season #Noles get a strong W over Wake @TruistNews | #OneTribe pic.twitter.com/IoWmBF9U26 FSU Women's Basketball (@fsuwbb) February 3, 2023 It marks FSU’s first 20-win season since the 2019-20 season and its fastest to that mark since the 2014-15 season. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Proving to be the biggest mismatch on the court, sophomore forward Makayla Timpson produced her 11th double-double of the season as she powered No. 24 Florida State Women’s Basketball past 16th-ranked Duke, 70-57, on Sunday afternoon at the Donald L. Tucker Center.
“Obviously a huge win today for us against a very good Duke team,” FSU Head Coach Brooke Wyckoff said. “I’ve said it all season, but the way this group responds to any kind of adversity or down moment, like the Notre Dame game, they always find a way to respond and do exactly what’s needed to bounce back. I’m really proud of our defensive effort and what we were able to hold Duke to shooting-percentage wise and overall points.”

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A 30-point third quarter and a dominant second half lifted Florida State Women’s Basketball to a 74-37 victory over Pitt on Sunday afternoon at the Donald L. Tucker Center.
“We really took care of business on the defensive end,” FSU Head Coach Brooke Wyckoff said. “(It was) against a Pitt team that knows who they are defensively and are going to make things tough for us offensively. They certainly tried to do that in the first half. We didn’t let that deter our defensive focus and our ability to get rebounds.”
The Seminoles (18-4, 7-2) held the Panthers (7-12, 0-8) to just 15.8 percent shooting and only 15.4 percent from the outside. For the second consecutive game, sophomore forward Makayla Timpson recorded six blocked shots, raising her season total to 54 on the season to tie for ninth in program history.
“Today’s game plan was to stay in the paint, and I just had to help the guards and be a rim protector for the team,” Timpson added.
