PEORIA A 17-year-old teen faces decades behind bars for allegedly shooting another man last fall in South Peoria.
Ladarrius D. Mason, 17, faces a single count of first-degree murder in connection with the Sept. 26, 2020, shooting death of Donald Donnie Allen in the 1500 block of South Faraday.
A $1 million warrant was issued for Mason s arrest. A court date will be set after Mason is arrested.
Prosecutors allege Mason shot Allen, 28, in the head. He died the next morning, becoming the city s ninth homicide of the year.
Mason was arrested on Oct. 10 but wasn t named due to the fact that he is a minor. The status of any charges in the juvenile division of Peoria County Circuit Court wasn t immediately known.
