Our Correspondent Mokokchung, Oct. 12 (EMN): The Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) Trophy 2022 was kicked off by Aotula T Imchen, SP Mokokchung, at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung on October 11. Imchen in her speech, lauded the MDFA for successfully hosting the tournament for the service of the public and also successfully hosting the Dr.T Ao Trophy. She also said the tournament was a great platform to promote and motivate grassroots level participation while improving the level of the players to strive towards playing in state, national and international levels. “We all know football is not just a beautiful game but it is also an emotion for many people. And it should be the collective desire of all that there is unity through sports,” she said, adding that sports is the medium to develop relationships and friendships which allows people to strive and compete hard with the spirit of sportsmanship. Dimapur, Sep. 8 (EMN): The District Sports Council (DSC) Tseminyu held a felicitation programme for medal winners and officials of the Tseminyu district contingent who took part in the recently concluded Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2022, at Tizü Hotel, Tsonsa, on September 7. According to an update, DC Tseminyu, Dr. Zasekuolie Chusi, who is also the chairman of DSC Tseminyu, graced the programme as special guest to honour the achievements of the district team. The event was chaired by EAC Tsogin, Tumben Tsanglao, while SP Tseminyu, Kanchan Kumar Kandpal, and ADC Tseminyu, Longasen, exhorted and encouraged the medal winners while for bringing pride and laurels to the district. Dimapur, Aug. 30 (EMN): Tesen Lui Council, Tesen village, under Tening sub-division, Peren organised a felicitation programme in honor of Nagaland Olympic gold medallist, Peiheiteile Esalung, at Tesen Lui Council Hall, Tening on August 29. An update from DIPR stated that Esalung expressed her gratitude to Tesen Lui Council for organising the programme, and lauded the Peren District Athlete Association, team coach and management board members for the support and guidance throughout her journey.
