Employees of 58 federal entities draw higher salaries July 28, 2021 ISLAMABAD: In a serious distortion of the basic pay scale scheme, government servants belonging to 58 entities draw extra allowances and, in some cases, their salaries are two to three times higher than those of ordinary government servants. Interestingly these entities include authorities like the President’s Secretariat, Prime Minister’s Office, the National Assembly, Senate Secretariat and all the superior courts which according to their mandate are supposed to ensure fair play, equality and merit. In a recent notification issued by the Finance Ministry for the grant of a Disparity Reduction Allowance at the rate of 25 percent of the basic pay scales to civil employees in BS-20-22 of the federal government, the ministry listed the names of those 58 entities whose employees are already drawing extra allowances.

PU employees demand allowances July 20, 2021 LAHORE:Punjab University (PU) teachers, officers and employees held a joint press conference here Monday and demanded grant of Disparity Allowance to all grades of university teachers, officers and employees. The press conference was organised by the PU’s Joint Action Committee in which they made a unanimous demand for the provision of 25pc Disparity Reduction Allowance to teachers, officers and employees from grade one (BS-1) to twenty-two (BS-22) without any discrimination. In the matter of Utility Allowance, they demanded the grant of the allowance without any delay. 25pc disparity allowance from BPS-20 to 22 notified

July 10, 2021 ISLAMABAD: Barring 58 institutions/departments where employees are already getting extra allowances, including the President/PM Secretariat, FBR, all superior courts, NAB, IB, ISI and many others, the government has notified for granting 25 percent disparity allowance from BPS-20 to 22 with effect from July 1, 2021. According to Office Memorandum (OM) issued by the Finance Division, the approval of the federal government for grant of Disparity Reduction Allowance © 25% of the basic pay of Basic Pay Scales 2017 w.e.f. 1st July 2021 was conveyed. Teachers body demands allowance

Teachers body demands allowance July 9, 2021 LAHORE:Executive Council of Punjab University Academic Staff Association (PUASA) has flayed the government for allegedly depriving teachers and staff of the universities of Disparity Reduction Allowance. According a press release, PUASA president Prof Dr Mumtaz Anwer demanded an amendment to the notification related to Disparity Reduction Allowance and demanded immediate grant of the allowance for all teaching and non-teaching staff without any discrimination. A general body meeting of the PUASA has also been called on July 13 on the issue. It was reaffirmed that PUASA stands by FAPUASA Punjab chapter in its rightful struggle. ASA reiterated its stance for the restoration of ante date appointments and time scale promotions for the teaching faculty.
