Working to address gaps in inequities. The budget helps to maintain the staffing levels despite the economic downturn associated with the pandemic. We propose to expand our popular Park Stop Program which provides staff restrooms throughout the system and ensures clean and safe Bathroom Access at some of our busy locations. And finally our budget proposes to restore our Workforce Development Program which was cut short by the pandemic. We made our budget decisions with equity at the forefront and our process was guided by our budget principles which are shown on the slide. And infused with what we learned during the pandemic and the response there. Im going to hand it over to antonio who will take you through the details of the budget. Thank you, sara. The need is there across the city. Reality now is and this is not just me. This is a consultant what they do for a living that assessed our staffing with 260 officers short in operations. That is why it is so hard to sustain these efforts. When we have ebbs and flows in employment. If we can free up officers and Supervisor Haney raised the point do other things more pressing for what we do. That will be fantastic. In the mine time we will make sure we do everything we can so this is successful. Now we are short. We try to make it happen. I am going to bring up a sideshow. Response is good to sideshows since we put together this. We are going to have a whole hearing on that, chief. The point is we have to borrow from the district stations to make that happen or you cant do it. Other spikes in crime we are doing the same thing. Even if you get reduction in 28,000 calls for service on Wellness Checks, it seems that would open up some staffing. That is the idea. Hopefully it will. That is

Hello, my name is will herrera. I run the old Ship Saloon in Jackson Square. We are located in district 3 under Supervisor Peskin. Im also a member of the Jackson Square association. Our businesses have been severely impacted by this pandemic specifically downtown tourism and events all of which has been well documented. We can continue to employ members of our community to ensure their financial welfare. Accruing debt upwards of 750, 000 in operating costs in both locations not accounting loss of over revenue. The value of shared spaces allows both of our venues to operate with increased occupancy in conjunction with indoor dining and permits us a broader comfort zone. We hope has more businesses open traffic will increase generating a shared per cant community. Support for small businesses and we hope our employees and customer based needs consistency. Please vote in favor of the legislation and without any amendments. Thank you. Thank you so much. Hello Chair Melgar, Supers Preston
