Mayor Mike Duggan appointed a new interim planning and development director from Texas.
Antoine Bryant, who comes from Houston, began serving as the interim director on Monday. Duggan nominated Bryant for the role, but the City Council will still have to officially confirm him to the position permanently. The move follows the departure of  Maurice Cox, who left the position in 2019 for a similar role in Chicago.
Bryant served as a business development and project manager for Moody Nolan, an architecture firm. His experiences involve urban planning and empowering underserved communities, according to the city.
