multiple stabbings took place. a man entered the shopping centre with a knife, five people were killed, several others are in hospital right now with serious critical conditions. you can see from these live pictures, armed police presence still there. the area is still in lockdown. we don t know the motive for this attack but police saying, as things stand, they believed that he acted alone and they don t believe there is a continuing threat. as we just look at the various different, three different lives feeds we have on the scene right now. i will take you back a couple of hours to this afternoon when there was still daylight and we have these pictures of people basically being evacuated from the shopping centre. you can imagine a hugely busy shopping centre, hundreds of people inside, and as soon as the alarm was raised, police managed to get hundreds of people out of that shopping centre. now, nearby when this happened, about 3:20 p m local time in sydney, when that happe
