Dibrugarh: With Lok Sabha elections just around the corner, the first-time voters of the prestigious Dibrugarh Lok Sabha constituency are eagerly awai.
The Dibrugarh Town Protection (DTP) Drain in Dibrugarh has turned into a landfill due to garbage dumping, causing clogging and encroachment issues. The drain, spanning 9.5 km, is facing severe clogging due to the accumulation of floating waste. Encroachments by various entities have also shrunk the drain's width. The water resources department has reported that 1612.5 square feet of the drain has been encroached upon. The drain is a crucial stormwater drainage system for the town.
Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday reviewed the functioning of Guwahati Development Department at his conference room at Janata Bhawan and took stock of Assam Urban Infrastructure.
