ERA sponsors blood donation drive

The Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) in partnership with the Uganda Blood Transfusion Services (UBTS) recently completed a week-long blood donation drive held from November 9 to November 13, 2020 at the Constitution Square, Kampala. The drive targeted to address the current blood shortage in the country occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to UBTS, Uganda consumes 300,000 units of blood annually. Between April and July this year, UBTS collected 56,850 units against a target of 75,000. The Covid-19 pandemic locked out many Ugandans, especially students who, on record, are the highest blood donors.
