The Bombay High Court on Friday directed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to submit an affidavit outlining the measures implemented to address emergencies arising from sudden fires in city.
On Wednesday, the high court pulled up the Maharashtra government and questioned its laxness in implementing fire safety regulations in buildings vulnerable to man-made disasters.
The real estate development in these areas has come to a halt as the development plan prepared by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) is yet to receive the final approval.
