Tributes have been paid to mum-of-four and former nurse Dee Woods from Greystones, who died before Christmas Day, despite having begun advanced treatment for cancer abroad in November, which had offered some hope.
The first time Dee Woods knew something was wrong with her health was in August last year. The 44-year-old former nurse, originally from Greystones, Co Wicklow, was on a glamping trip with her husband Derek Devlin, her four boys, Isaac (14), Adam (12), Josh (10), and Hugo (7), and three other families.
An online fundraiser to pay for a Wicklow mother’s cancer treatment in the US has been inundated with donations from around the Garden County and beyond, raising €53,365 for the vital therapy in just four days.
