MEA Drives Ahead With Smart EV Infrastructure

Mr. Jaturong Suriyasasin, Deputy Governor of the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), announced the MEA’s recent progress with its research and development of electronic vehicles (EVs). The developments include 14 EV smart charging stations at MEA branches and 7-Eleven stores in Bangkok, Nonthaburi, and Samut Prakan provinces.
With cooperation between government and private sectors, EV drivers nationwide can now enjoy more convenient access to charging stations via MEA EV Application.
Data collected for research is drawn from analysis of real-world use by 47 participants, comprising 23 MG ZS and 24 Nissan Leaf drivers who joined the MEA Car Sharing Project. Soon the MEA’s ongoing E-bus, E-motorbike, and E-Tuk Tuk testing is expected to identify ways to reduce PM 2.5 air pollution.
