The Kane Building once housed the Olympic Trophy, now it may be home to 20 new apartment units and a restored façade if The Menkiti Group gets approval from the Worcester Planning Board.
The rundown Denholm Building on Main Street in Worcester is slated to become either a $113-million, mixed-use housing development with an affordable component, or a $65-million mixed-use luxury apartment complex.
One proposal includes a seven-story building with about 200 luxury apartments. The other includes two adjoined 10- and 11-story buildings consisting of 233 total apartments, including both market-rate and affordable units.
The former Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles lot at 611 Main St. in Worcester is under agreement for sale by Washington D.C. developer The Menkiti Group for $2.5 million.
