We are seeing a justifiable public outrage and acts of needless destruction across the country. We all agreed that the act of protesting should not be overshadowed by the reason we are protesting. It shouldnt drive people away. N there is no way forward. As mayors you are responsible for shaping how we respond. It has to be difficult finding the balance between keeping people safe, protecting public spaces, while acknowledging the incredible pain and legitimate anger.
